- QC "to-be-encoded content." Share duty for pre-encoded content, check for obvious problems including: integrity, aspect ratio, cropping, framerate, bitrate, duration, seekability and buffering.
- Encode content into a .wmv container for selling, a .flv container for ad supported streaming, a .mp4 container for devices, and create a .mp4 trailer, where applicable, on a per partner/title basis.
- Troubleshoot problem content, which does not cleanly or completely rip / encode.
- Own and maintain the Encoding Spec, guidelines for partners submitting pre-encoded content.
- Shared responsibility for editing metadata.
- Run content ingestion scripts.
- Research best practices, keep aware of new developments, and advise accordingly.
